Tourism

Posted in Blog on Date February 9th, 2010 by Najib Razak | Comments View Comments

Our tourism sector enjoyed a successful 2009, despite the H1N1 outbreak and global economic crisis. Encouragingly, the number of foreign visitors coming to Malaysia last year was about 24 million, a rise of about 7% compared to 2008, and Malaysia won seven regional World Travel Awards. It was also encouraging to see our country feature in Lonely Planet’s list of top 10 destinations to visit in 2010.

I believe that people visiting for the first time this year will like what they experience: a one Malaysia of different peoples, customs, traditions and languages, all united under one flag. Tourism Malaysia’s Truly Asia tagline is truly fitting, therefore. Our rich cultural diversity means that we offer exciting gastronomic experiences, places of worship for all faiths, buildings intact from the pages of history in places such as George Town and Melaka, and festivals with unforgettable images.

Our natural landscape is also diverse: from the gentle tea-producing Cameron Highlands to the untamed Taman Negara (the oldest tropical rainforest in the world), and from the corals of Sipadan Island to the lush views of Mulu, we are blessed with a wonderful country. Indeed, the majority of you who voted in the recent 1malaysia.com.my tourism poll decided that Malaysia would benefit most of all from eco-tourism.

To build on last year’s success, we will allocate RM899 million to tourism under the 2010 budget. We will continue to strengthen different areas of tourism, in particular eco-tourism, agro-tourism and health tourism.

Major new initiatives will include a drive to attract more participants from countries such as China and India to the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme; upgrading the quality of infrastructure in tourism centres; and having those serving on the front line being friendly yet courteous Malaysians; promoting tourism activities online; and providing more attractive tourism products and events.

In terms of new products and events, for example, luxury shoppers will be interested to know that an exciting new premium factory outlet, Johor Premium Outlet, will open its doors in 2011. Visitors to our capital, Kuala Lumpur, will meanwhile be able to participate in the 1Malaysia Lantern Festival, now to be celebrated annually. There will be many more tourism developments, but I would be interested for now in your thoughts.

Tourism acts not only as a source of income for our country but is a showcase of our diversity and unity. It brings us together. I am very proud of our diverse cultural backgrounds and all of us Malaysians, must build upon this.  As a Malaysian, we should also get to know our neighbouring states better and travel domestically to enjoy the various attractions and splendour we have. I for one will be hoping for a short retreat at a well known local destination hopefully sometime this month.

What other tourism opportunities in Malaysia would you identify? What else can we do to lure tourists and ensure that they have a unique and enjoyable experience? I look forward to your comments on Malaysia’s strength as a tourist destination for both our international guests and local residents.

Dear YAB Najib, all of us should feel proud that Malaysia is 1 of 10 top tourist destinations. The direct revenue from tourism should take back seat. It is the exposure and the goodwill it brings to Malaysia that really matters. Talking about tourist, I reckon the development of Langkawi has taken the tortoises speed after Tun M has stepped down as the PM of Malaysia. If developed adequately and all the possible attractions are in place, Langkawi alone would be capable to attract more tourists than the rest of Malaysia. I hope YAB instruct the Tourism Minister to take good care of Langkawi and its development as one of the best tourist destinations in the SE Asia.

Sy sngt gembira dngn keputusan kerajaan utk membangunkan Kg Baru mengikut acuan masyarakat tempatan.

Salam 1Malaysia Datuk Seri, Saya ingin menyentuh mengenai Kuala Lumpur.

As a Hottelier I have few suggestions: 1. Improve security of tourist visiting our country. Many foreign guests has been snatched(snatch thief). This is a major issue facing us in our daily. Most of the tourist have vowed not to come back to Malaysia. 2. Tourism Malaysia should emulate their Indonesian and Thai counterpart in promoting malaysia. In terms of efficiency, effectiveness and activities. 3. Gazzete a five day working week for all instead of only government to encourage Domestic Tourism. 4. Promote our multicultural advantage to attract foreigners.

  • Project Camelot

I would suggest that the government to create a tourist bus company which main purpose is to bring the foreign tourists to our famous beaches. This will save them time and money. As we know most of them come here to enjoy our beautiful beaches but are troubled by the boundary of language. So with this kind of bus company they will feel more confident in reaching their desire destination without the normal obstacle.

A great way to attract tourist to visit our country is by providing a tramwayline/monorail/cablecar services at few selected tourist spots all around Malaysia with a minimal charge to the passenger. When we already have a good tramway/monorail/cablecar service at this selected tourist spot, we can then make it a pedestrian walkway. It will also enhance the public transport system in those selective area. Most of the tourist spot in the developed country in the world provided tramway/monorail/cable car services to their tourist spot like in Singapore, Australia and etc. It also good for the environment as well as the more people commute using public transport the less it would be we polluting our air.

Dear sir, I would like to draw your attention to the large tariff difference of electricity. I hope that there will be some action taken to standardize the tariff of electricity in Malaysia. Monthly income of Sarawak people is not as high but the electricity is higher in Sarawak. Sarawak is producing and generating electricity but still the tariff is higher. High tariff would be a burden for Sarawak resident. I hope that the electricity tariff in Sarawak can be reduced. Please refer to electricity tariff: http://www.tnb.com.my/tnb/tariff/newrate_domestic… http://www.sesco.com.my/sesco/english/metercalc5.htm

I thing we should go back to basics. 1. Preserve and encourage the dying arts and culture . e.g. Kris making (we should give special allowances to the artisians and having youth to learn the arts from them.) 2. Preserve and maintain old buildings and old towns 3. Encourage architects and builders to build more traditional Malay houses. Have a special place for the RUMPUN MELAYU houses as museum or live in meseums. 4. Encourage – Kampong style living in islands and kampongs for tourist, not those homestays , which has already lost it's meaning. 5. More natural beauty in islands and kampongs – replanting of trees especially coconuts in islands. Wasallam

It heartning to know that Lonley planet chose Malaysia as one of the best destination of 2009 but suggestion ststing that we are going for more eco-tourism is no way for Malaysian. I wonder how many of us Malaysian really knows what eco-tourism is all about? we are still far away from it man…..

  • Fahmi

Any focus ie. eco tourism, edu tourism, shopping tourism et al, I have no qualms Dato Seri. Malaysia has a lot to offer no doubt. It is just that we havent really sit down to give emphasis on neatness and cleanliness on our streets, in our public toilets, on empty lands and the likes. More funds have to be given to cleanliness operation and culture inculcation.

  • Shamshie Nudin

All places in Sabah & Sarawak states are amazing ! Mountains, Rivers, clear waters of the sea (like sampoorna), Jungles – never ending ! I was thinking even the logging roads in sabah & sarawak can be used as motor rally for both cars & heavy trucks. It will be a very natural motor rally road with all kinds of obstacles, especially if it is a rainy day !! Rivers can be used for Boat race! Good chances to make mountaineering schools or Rock climbing schools at Kinabalu mountains ! Para gliding trainings – adventure tourism. My best wishes for the Tourism Ministry of Malaysia!

  • Mohd Fuad

salam, first of all, before gov concentrating to attract international tourist. why dont gov try to fulfill what Malaysian wanted. for me the most important thing is about Malaysia's road, please try and focus to build a nice road that will last longer.even though it will cost more then usual, but in long term, it will save a lot of money. besides that, roads with potholes should be dig out bigger so that small stones can be place in then only tars on it.

  • Mohd Radzian

Salam DS Najib, Satu potensi yang belum di tap – "food based"""""""" tourism. My hometown is Melaka and we have the famous """"""""ikan bakar outlets"""""""" along Merlimau road which attracted people from as far as Johor/Singapore and also, restoran nyonya. Some people especially the Japanese willing to travel to try different type of food. In Japan, it is sort of called """"""""Food-Hot Spring Tourism"""""""". Unfortunately, hot spring is not in abundance, so food-tourism may be coupled with a different attraction such as """"""""festival"""""""" and etc, thus a specific area need to have a specific related """"""""festival"""""""". Maybe tourism board can promote food and festival of certain areas along with other attraction such as UNESCO's World heritage site and etc."""""""

YAB Datuk Seri, Assalamualaikum, To be honest to Dato'-Eco-tourism, agro-tourism and health-tourism is a good deal to the countries. However those 3 mechanism is not integrated. Something missing to cluster together so that it will be memorable such as Scenery goes to Eating and check the happiness but where my root? I do see by implement the Islamic Historical Tourism, we shall comeback to 1nation, 1malays, 1brothers and 1heart to protect each others for well-being. My roots can be found once my hirachy chart completed by encouraging all muslim to fill in the name that are missing. I much oblighed to donate more financial to this kind of activities as my heart my soul and my body would be comfortable and find the happiness when being carry to the grave-yard as I surely see the needs of all my brothers to help the poor eventho I'm not rich.

Assalamualaikum. Saya merupakan anak jati daerah Mersing, daerah yg terkenal dgn keunikan pesisir pantai, taman laut & gugusan pulau yang menarik. Namun masalah utama yg ketara boleh dilihat adalah berkenaan perkhidmatan PENGANGKUTAN AWAM yg teruk. Dgn keadaan bas yg sekadar cukup berupa bas dari luaran, perkhidmatan teksi yg tidak memuaskan (ikut sesuka hati pemandu teksi sahaja). Pengusaha syarikat bas dilihat hanya mementingkan keuntungan.

Good day YAB PM, I have two suggestions to better promote tourism industry in our country: i. Defence tourism – we should rehabilitate all WW1 and WW2 history/landmark in Malaysia, especially how alliance fought Japanese. Many places have their own attractions to Aussies, Brits, NZ, Japanese, and no exception local tourists. I went to South Korea and really amazed by its efforts to promote military DMZ, border with North Korea. Everyday dozen of buses full with tourist visited DMZ. We can have similar in Malaysia. We need to reconstruct how we fought communist insurgency, how PKM lived in the jungle, the tunnel, etc. I trust this will create interest for many tourists. Vietnam also have the same thing..how they fought American..now become asset to the tourism industry. thank for now Ismail

  • Ismail hj bakar

ii. History tourism – History tourism or Hist Tourism is another product that can be mainstreamed. We have unique history such as "JWW Birch"""""""", old mining (in Pahang, Perak, Johor) we have all those interesting products, but sadly we are not promoting. I know rehabilitation is costly but it is important to add value to the tourism products. Thank you Ismail"""""""

Dato' Seri, since the GLC Transformation Program idea was mooted in year 2004, until now I really wonder why do PNB & EPF do not get a new transformational leaders? There is no doubt both organizations are doing well for the time being. But don't you ever think that these two organizations also need new transformational leaders to bring them into greater heights? Is there any double standard among GLCs itself? Worse still, both current leaders have already exceed their retirement age. So, where is the succession planning? Where is the Talent Development Program that has been written nicely in the GLC Orange Book? Please Dato' Seri, you are the only person who could bring in change.

May our country be the best example of an Islamic country throughout the world under the leadership of our beloved PM.

  • True Muslim

There was one time a group of tourists, probably from an Oriental country, visited a mosque. One very elderly tourist guy wondering inside the mosque alone with his sandal still on his feet. Suddenly an angry voice shouted at the elderly man instructing him to get out from the mosque. The mosque's attendant shooed him off like a man shooing a dog from his house. Very unfortunate, sad and embarrassing incident witnessed by everyone in the mosque. The attendant should act politely when handling with tourists for they may not know the Islamic culture. There was no one from the mosque leading the tourists. How are we going to make people love our religion and house of worship if such is the case? Just being thoughtful over this unfortunate incident that may tarnish our tourism industry.

Dear Datuk Seri, I need to forward a question which i feels doesn't go together with the 1Malaysia implant . Y there is still a quota for University Entrance , contracts grabbing , civil service jobs entry ,special privilege for Bumiputeras in purchasing house but not for other races? My friends in overseas questions me is y there is a quota and still ur PM can say 1Malaysia.I am as Indian feel being left out from the economic mainstream. Quota system should be abolished and government should more transparent in awarding contracts. One simple example,i;m giving : Last week i went to ( JPN) which is located in Ayer Keroh Melaka..Its newly constructed building ( 3-4 years ) but now the condition is horrible. Its seems like a work of non – quality Malay contractor .Y there is a quota . As a Malaysian , i need to answer back my friends on the actual 1 Malaysia meaning and y there is still a existence of quota in Malaysia . Pls answer to my questions to make this avenue much interactively.

Setiap daerah hendaklah menyediakan sekurang2nya satu pakej pelancungan bersepadu.

Insyaallah. Akhir kata saya ingin mengucap syabas kpd Dato' Seri and keep up the good work ;) . We will support u all d way… Razli

Terima kasih.

I applaud PM , ur initiative in going to the ground and meeting the public .The most serious case which is affecting now in the city is the plights of the Indian who is staying in Sentul Railway Indian Settlement..Living in city but condition more worst than Somalia.Datuk Saravanan visited them and give a comment that he is frustrated with YTL, but y he did nt provide any other alternative to the ppl there rather than waiting for the YTL reply .How long the ppl going to suffer and i urge Datuk Saravanan to stay in settlement together with them so that he knows their suffering..PM. pls look into this matter seriously..1Malaysia..I am a staunch supporter of BN but not MIC..MIC is saying but no action.

With the advance of mobile phones, the government should really look into GPS technology to give information to the foreign tourists about certain area in the country, where to eat and where the interesting events are being held. This will certainly save them time and will increase their knowledge of local custums. This will eliminates the language problem all together. Just imagine how convinient it will be, from calling taxi, to ordering food, and finding out the shortest way to a destination, without being taken to a con ride by certain taxy's drivers.

KPI for the tourism should be occupancy level of hotels or tourist nights, not tourist arrivals; outcome of tourists should be their spending and most would be spend on staying in hotels. occupancy rate of our hotel must be high at least 80% to be acceptable as an indication of success for the industry. with high occupancy rate the rest will follows eg shopping, taxi drivers, atttractions etc. For the tourist destinations to be succesful they must fulfil 5A formula; 1. Attractions 2. accessibility 3.Accomodation 4.Awareness 5. Accountability…………

PM, 1Malaysia is only good for tourism (superfocoal and not skin deep) and will always remain as songs and batik. They are nice but the reality is not. Your men including the DPM are undermining you and your effort. Your better get rid of them before they get rid of you. Then you'll see the real 1Malaysia flourishing.

There is a broad revenue source from touris industry, namely leisure, business, education and medical. Leisure could be the shortest stay and vice-versa for education. In my opinion, overseas offices of Malaysia Tourism Board should be revamped to cater the needs of those four types of tourism industry. The offices may be modelled according the British Council which emphasize on the cultural and educational aspect of the country which are the catalyst for tourism products. Perhaps, education may give greater mutplier impact on the nation economy due to its length of stay and indirect contribution such visits by relative and friends, and promotion through word of mouth which is more credible and effective. As a result, our two national carriers may complement each other to tap this vast revenue. At the same time, the Government could assist these two agents of tourism by providing all the necessary incentives.

As I move around Malaysia, the reality is less than perfect. I doubt if MS ISO or ISO per se or KPI will show all the weaknesses of Malaysian tourism. Try to be an ordinary traveler. You will get to experience what ordinary travelers will experience. Do not depend on the reports that reach your desk. Malaysia is undoubtedly one of the good places in the world to visit. But it takes a good management to draw out its’ beauty without destroying the nature. There are ethics and etiquettes for travelers; same too for travel operators. Then a lot of Malaysian tourism is made successful by their very own Malaysians. A very short poll will show what tourists like or do not like.

  • Muhamed Ali Bin Moha

Dear Dato' Seri, It excites me tremendously when you announced the above statement. I get more inspired when you plan to invite fellow Malaysians for a cuupa. I pray to be among those invited to meet you. It is my only chance to pour all my ideas and yet feel safe with a hope of some support. I have an exclusive idea on promoting tourism for Malaysia. I do have several other ideas other topics. Coincidently I was offered to write a book about you and have an exclusive interesting yet educational topic research to work on. Dato Seri, I do hope to have an opportunity to confide my ideas. As a basic profile about me, I published an exclusive book on Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. You may visit my website vccmahathir.com. Salam and look forward for the cuppa tea occasion with you. God Bless you!

I think we have what it takes to bring our tourism sector to the next level… We have it all…No doubt we have a lot of beautiful places and activities that the tourists can visit and enjoy… My worry is the maintenance bit… I think we have not done enough to upgrade/maintain our buildings and facilities… My recent visit to Genting was a shock to me… Although the equipments are well maintained(service) but the color/paint is already dull on certain areas and that does't look attractive… Taiping railway station for example (our first railway station) was really not in a good condition… these are few examples from my own observation which I am sure there are a lot more in actual… I hope we can excell in this sector as it will bring multiplier effect (ie in terms of jobs creation, increasing level of income etc) to the country and community…

Kita mempunyai banyak sumber tetapi perlu disebarkan. i. (kreativiti & inovatif) iii. Kepelbagaian budaya (Melayu, Cina, Sabahan, Orang Asli, India, Kadazan dan lain-lain) iv. BUat satu penjenamaan contohnya indonesia dengan konsep bali, cina dengan batu jed, sutera so what about malaysia??? Saya rasa seperti kepelbaigaina makanan, keropok lekor, putu……Layang-layang, bot laju ata apa-apa…..

Dear Honorable Prime Minister, It saddens me that our southern neighbor have time and time again overtaken us in terms of tourism etc. Malaysia have so many places of interest and resources that are poorly managed and operated. Malaysia is surrounded by sea. Why don't we have a more comprehensive SeaWorld theme park instead of a close enclosure aquaria in Langkawi? We have many hills and mountains that are just waiting to be turned into a tourism spot. Unfortunately, these places are half heartily operated. I myself together with many fellow Malaysians have promoted Malaysia to many foreigners. And they have came and are surprised by its beauty. But us Malaysian who runs these places does not appreciate it, and more than often neglected it with poor maintenance. Salam Bahagia, Eric Lau

Assalamualaikum WBT….. Dear YAB Datuk Seri Najib, Thank you for being my Prime Minister and the strength to promote 1Malaysia. As a Malaysian born in Singapore before Merdeka I am glad that my father chose to return to Malaysia. I am now are retired travel industry practitioner. Although much have been done to promote tourism in this country, I think we have not put up enough effort to maintain what we already have. 1. All the Cultural Villages – except for Sabah and Sarawak, the rest are in shambles. Examples.. Cherating Cultural Village, Penang cultural Village and many others. 2. No proper parking space for tourist buses near KLCC as this is a favourite photo icon. 3. Touts at KLIA and LCCT 4. The rubbish strewn on weekends at our beach resorts. 5. Haphazard parking in the cities that causes traffic jams. 6. Improperly maintained toilets. 7. The modernization of the Penang Hill railway.

Assalaamualaikum Honourable Dato' Seri Najib, Varieties of brainstorm suggestions coming from 1Malaysia concern in promoting our tourism factor. I would like to add further Muhamed Ali's idea commented on Feb. 17, 2010 (BJ is the same person). The idea and concept of my system will not only boost our tourism industry internationally, it is also applicable to every states who wishes to add colours and promote their tourism industry to a better level. My system also helps other industries as suggested by other 1Malaysians in this respective blog under tourism. Please refer me potential and sincere business people who is keen to work ,refine and invest in this innovative, creative, productive, profitive(is there such word? Aah..saja nak rhyme) and exclusive system. Again I look forward for a cuppa with you together in your 1malaysia interactive activity. Congrats on your Sarawak visit. Thank you!

Part 2 Why only now after more than 50 years of Independence from the British then we suddenly started to can our Muslim women?? Are we trying to tell the world that in the past 50 years all our women never involved in any adulterous activities?? Why only now to ban “Allah” wording even though this word has been using for more than 100 years even before our Independence from the British. ALL THESE ARE INDEED VERY NEGATIVELY IMPACT ON OUR TOURIST SECTORS AS WELL AS FDI when it makes headlines around the world for the wrong reasons AND of course IT IS NOT HELPING THE COUNTRY. Please do not can OR whip the lady who drank beer recently..

  • Albert L

Part 1 Dear PM Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak: The Government should understand how seriousness of impacts from the negative publicity generated by the caning of three Muslim women and controversy surrounding the use of the word “Allah”. The caning of three Muslim women has caused concerns not only internally but also externally. To date, the words ‘malaysia muslim caning’ has reached more than 6.50 million hitting results in the Google. The problems of Church burning followed from the usage of the word “Allah” have clearly shown to the world that Malaysia is longer a peaceful nation… Why the Government has allowed the demonstrations on “Allah” to be held??? Even though these ware held within the compound of the mosques, it is still against the laws of country and definitely is very bad for the Nation.

Coffee has been around since time immemorial. However with your visit to a tiny wooden kopitiam, everyone is wondering about the coffee which you have drunk. How thick ? How many scoops of sugar ? How much creamer ? Being called to be innovative, why not give it a name ? Perdana coffee ? Satu coffee ? One coffee ? Najib coffee ? It can also help to promote tourism. Whenever some tourists come round, Malaysians will introduce the yet to be named coffee which was drank by you.

The only reason people visit Malaysia is because it is cheap and normally only ever visit once. The traffic is shocking because the police are too lazy to get out there and fine the offenders for queuing across intersections, running red lights and double parking. The place is filthy because most Malaysians are too lazy to put rubbish in bins, much easier to just drop it at their feet.Watch all the rubbish floating down the drains next time it rains. Roads and footpaths are a disgrace and down right dangerous. A friend visiting, recently broke her ankle as the footpath gave way under neath. It is hard for a country to progress when its people are just too lazy to bother.Look at the 80,000 jobs available in eating places where only 80 Malaysians bothered to apply. No wonder they have to bring in Foreign workers to do these jobs.

Hi Dato' Sri, I am hosting a birthday party at Botani Garden for my godson, this Sunday . I am renting their Anjung which has a nice view. But, I am dissappointed that i could not use their facilities such as chairs and tables which are available. I was made to understand that they are there for internal programs.I tried to reason with the management, however, they could not do much since they are governed by some rules, procedures etc which I find hard to comprehend. Why can't the park be a one stop centre? and more crowd friendly? sighhh….i find this such a petty mindboggling issue. Thank you in advance. :)

The Formula 1 is a great idea in introducing Malaysia to the world and for bringing tourists here. May I suggest that the government constructs an express road exclusively for Formula 1 clients with the help of the financially able Formula 1 organization ? There are other tourists both international and local who are using the everyday highways and roads to get to KLIA and LCCT. While the F 1 is going on, the planes can still fly on schedule and the public transport do not need to be jammed. In fact, the traffic branch of PDRM can station more personnel to do its’ direction duties if the traffic light fail at that moment. Tourists come in and out everyday. The F 1 is held in Sepang twice a year the most.

Dear Prime Minister, It is an utter shame that the historic Pudu jail building will be demolished completely to make way for roads and new buidlings. This jail is part of our history and could be a boon for tourism if even part of the building was preserved as a museum. When i was in Gotland in Sweden, we even stayed in a prison that had been converted to a mini-hotel/hostel for travellers. It is so sad for us to lose parts of our history to rampant, unplanned modernisation. Please see if there is something that can be done to preserve this jail as a museum or memoriam. Thank you, sasi

Dear Prime Minister, We believe Terengganu have the potential to be a top tourist destination with its many beautiful islands, kenyir lake, national park to name a few and its many traditional and cultural varieties and its laidback charm which appeals not only to locals but foreigners alike. It is sad to say that it is being undersell and not enough is done by the Tourism Ministry and state governemnt to really develope the state to appeal to the targeted tourist. We don't see much tourist from the Middle East, China and India there. I'm sure with some thought put in jointly by the state governemnt and Ministry of Tourism, Terengganu tourism industry will be booming in no time.

Dear YAB Najib, I applaud the recent curb of prostitution in KL Sentral Hotel area. However tonight(26-Jun-2010), I notice that area(used to called Thambipillay) has again bloosom with a lot of illegal gambling and prostitution walking around that area. I was futhur shock when a pimp approach me while I was eating at White Coffee restaurant and he futhur boast that he has many nice prostitute to choose from, ranging from underage malay school girl to indonesia virgin. Out of curiousity, I ask the pimp, don't you scare that police will raid this area again? He just laugh and said they have paid bribe to police and will receive first information when there is a raid and normally giving police bribe, will let them alone??? Therefore I am curious to know your opinion as to how to control this old trade and prevent furthur police bribe. I as a Malaysian feel ashame that our country still has such black sheep to prevent us from growing! Yours Truthly, Marcus The frustated.

Dear Prime Minister, We have recently read in the mainstream news lately about Teluk Yu's 3 dead 23 hospitalized, Kedah several hospitalized and 3 popular picnic location closed and in Johore RM30 million spend on cleaning up river. We were wondering isn't it cheaper and more fruitful to solve the problem if the local government put up signs to inform the public about high fines for littering or throwing things in the river and place enforcement personnel to patrol popular picnic venues and rivers. This is the only way the non- civic conscious Malaysians will change their bad habit of littering. We are sure this method is by anyway better than the present method of keep on cleaning rivers which cost million of dollars and waiting for somebody to die and than close up the spot to have it clean up. Mr. Prime Minister, please take some urgent action if not the above before another poor Malaysian die on your watch !!! Eric Yeap Project REVIVE

    Assalamualaikum Dato Seri,

Saya terpanggil untuk meluahkan perasaan saya tengtang skim Malaysia My Second Home.

one thing that really spoils malaysia for tourists is the terrible rubbish around beautiful nature spots. i love going to waterfalls as most tourists do but here I find people treat the natural habital like a rubbish bin. why is this so? Ecotourism is a hugely sucesful but unless Malaysians respect their beautiful environment, this precious resource will never reach its potential.
