SIBU: The distribution of various forms of assistance by the government to the people showed that the government is very much concerned about the welfare and interests of the people.
The various forms of assistance include the distribution of the Poor Students Trust Fund (KWAMP), 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M), 1Malaysia Book Voucher, 1Malaysia People's Housing (PR1MA) and E-Kasih.
Speaking at a function held in conjunction with the distribution of Kwamp and e-Kasih at SJKC Thian Hua in Sibu Jaya here yesterday, Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Dudong Datuk Tiong Thai King said the distribution of assistance proved the government "has been, is now and will be always be catering to the needs of the rakyat especially the needy."
Tiong said the federal government had also approved an allocation of RM16 billion for the construction of the Pan Borneo Highway which would benefit all the people of Sarawak.
He urged the people to give their fullest support to the BN government in the coming state election "for the sake of sustainable development."
"The people must choose the right candidate in the coming state election. All of you must choose candidate who would be able to help the people."
"I have been chose as the BN direct candidate for Dudong, thus I hope the people, especially the voters in Dudong will give their fullest support to me in the coming state election," he said.
Meanwhile, Tiong also promised to help upgrading the facilities in the Dudong constituency, especially to build a multi-purpose hall for SJKC Thian Hua.
